A Magical Day at Randall Children’s Hospital with Chelsea Hicks Foundation

RANDALL'S HOSPITAL VISIT

Monday, September 15, was one of those unforgettable days that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. Our team of Chelsea Hicks Foundation volunteers rolled into Randall Children's Hospital, greeted with anticipation and smiles, ready to bring joy, comfort, and a little bit of magic to the incredible kids staying there.

With three carts brimming with costumes, accessories, pajama pants, silly slippers, and toys, our volunteers got right to work. Each child received a special bag filled with goodies-and not just any bag. Each one is carefully packed by our volunteers with love and thoughtfulness, filled with fun and comforting items chosen to brighten a child's day and encourage play and imagination.

Every child also gets to choose a costume and accessories - a moment that is always filled with excitement and imagination. While the younger ones often go all out with superhero capes, princess dresses, or funny hats, many of the older kids gravitate toward the cozy comfort of pajama pants and fuzzy slippers.

No matter the choice, every item is thoughtfully selected to spark laughter, inspire play, and empower kids by giving them a moment of choice and control-something so valuable during a hospital stay.

It is an all-day effort. Our volunteers, proudly wearing their bright red Chelsea Hicks Foundation shirts, knock on doors and are met with smiles, giggles, and joy. Watching faces light up as kids see what we have brought is a feeling we never get tired of. These are the moments that make all the behind-the-scenes work absolutely worth it.
