Celebrating the Heart of the Early Ford V8 Car Club Ladies

Every once in a while, we are reminded that generosity, friendship, and community are still very much alive. This month, the Ladies of the Early Ford V8 Car Club of America did something truly special for the Chelsea Hicks Foundation, and we are deeply grateful.

These remarkable women share a bond that has grown over decades. Many of them have been part of the club alongside their husbands for more than 50 years. They raised their families together, spent weekends around classic cars, and built a sisterhood rooted in loyalty, laughter, and shared memories.

Every month, rain or shine, the ladies gather for lunch, creating a treasured tradition that keeps their connection strong. They are a lively and joyful group of women in their 60s, 70s, and 80s who know the importance of friendship and showing up for one another.

What stands out most is their generosity.

The V8 Ladies have long supported charitable causes, quietly and consistently giving back to their community. Several years ago, one of the members saw a story on AM Northwest featuring Chelsea Hicks Foundation and the magic of Chelsea’s Closet. She felt moved and shared that inspiration with her friends. For the past two years, the group has brought donations to their annual Christmas luncheon to support our mission.

This year, they went above and beyond. Together, they donated 90 amazing items, including socks, pajamas, books, toys, and slippers, thoughtfully selected to include in our goodie bags for children in local hospitals, gifts that will bring comfort, joy, and a sense of bravery during difficult moments.

We are honored, humbled, and incredibly thankful.

To the Ladies of the Early Ford V8 Car Club of America, thank you for your kindness, your spirit, and your belief in spreading magic to children who need it most. Your generosity will touch countless young patients and families, and your sisterhood is an inspiration to us all.

From the entire Chelsea Hicks Foundation family, thank you for making a difference!

About the Chelsea Hicks Foundation

Starting in 2009, the Chelsea Hicks Foundation has been inspiring hope and empowering children through the power of play. When serious illness impacts a child's world, CHF helps children and families PLAY, PRETEND, and LAUGH together, creating special moments and lasting memories when they are needed most.
