Prairie High School Students Bring Community, Creativity, and Heart to CHF

Some events spark joy. Others spark connection. Prairie High School’s Trunk or Treat did both, and they did it with remarkable leadership, teamwork, and heart.

This year, students at Prairie High School hosted a free Trunk or Treat for their community, transforming their school grounds into a colorful and welcoming celebration. Students across the school came together to decorate 20 incredible trunks, hand out candy, and create a safe, fun, and family-friendly Halloween experience.

The event was led by Itzel Contreras Montiel, supported by Feruza Aslanova, Zarina Razatdinova, and Deven Vigue, a team of students committed to showing what young leaders can do when they unite with purpose. Together, they built an event that brought families together, strengthened community ties, and showcased the very best of Prairie High School.

A Night of Impact and Inclusion

While the evening was filled with costumes, laughter, and creativity, it also carried a meaningful mission. The students selected the Chelsea Hicks Foundation as the recipient of their supply drive, inviting families to donate comfort items such as bubbles, slippers, coloring books, and crayons to support CHF kids. In total, they collected 206 items,  an incredible gift that will bring joy and comfort to children facing medical challenges.

Students Who Lead With Heart

Prairie High School wanted their community to see a different side of today’s teens: compassionate, dedicated young people who care deeply about making a positive difference.

They succeeded.

  • Their collaboration, kindness, and enthusiasm didn’t just make for a wonderful event, they created a ripple effect of connection and care that will be felt far beyond the night of the event.
